CONCERT SUBJECT TO SOCIAL-DISTANCING RESTRICTIONS BEING LIFTED
To conclude our period of 16 years of promoting ‘live music in Lowdham’ we wanted to invite back artists who have featured strongly in the history of ‘Warthog’. We drew up a short-list of four and are delighted that we were able to sort dates for a ‘double double-bill’ featuring all of the artists, two playing at each of our two principal venues on successive days. Please note that both concerts will start at 7.30 pm as opposed to our traditional start time of 8 pm.
Our first double-bill features the Aynsley Lister Band and the Daniel Smith Blues Band. This will be the 8th visit for Aynsley with his full band, following on from the band’s sold-out show in December. It’s been a fantastic musical journey so far for Aynsley that has seen him play with, amongst others, Buddy Guy, John Mayall and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He has won multiple awards including Guitarist of the Year at the British Blues Awards and has also been nominated in the Guitarist and Male Vocal categories.
If it were not for the Daniel Smith Blues Band, this whole adventure may not have started. It was the band’s ‘Village Ventures’ concert in Lowdham Village Hall that gave Mike, Jacky and Pete the idea of promoting some regular live music in the village. The indisputable pedigree of the band members always makes for a show of blues force; a rip-roaring down home music experience, peppered with inspired solos and kicking rhythms. Supremely orchestrated by Smith, highlighting the talents of all, laced with humour & insights and – most of all – led powerfully yet effortlessly by incredible piano-playing. Daniel now lives in Spain but had no hesitation in accepting our invitation to return!
